his face as we cheered for him when he crossed the finish line!

For a service project, our youth group volunteered to help out the Down Syndrome Association here in Central Florida with the annual "Buddy Walk". We handed out programs and water, picked up trash and cheered on the participants as they took the walk around down-town Orlando's Lake Eola. The youth, as usual, were very helpful and upbeat. They are such a joy to work with. I'm so glad I get to serve in this capacity while my boys are at this age. Hopefully I'll get to do the same when the girls are of age. They may not feel the same way, but then again, they may. I found a list that Abby had written and it was titled... "I Love". Her list included singing, shopping, animals, going places and spending time with my mom. I asked her if I could keep it and it sits next to my bed on my nightstand. She may not want me around as much when she goes all alien on me and turns into a teenager!

Activities such as the "Buddy Walk" help us lift one another's spirits as we serve others. I've decided I'm going to look for more ways to serve with my kids. It brings us closer together, and in this self-centered world, it helps them focus on someone besides themselves.
